Doughnut Soaps - So unbelievably REAL!

Robin has amazed us again with his new doughnut soaps;  they look so real I had to resist licking the 'soap' bowl after he finished icing those chocolate doughnuts.  These will be available in the shop online at http://www.planetyum.com.au/ as soon as they are ready for use.  We have had so many requests for these that they'll sell quickly - looks like Rob will be getting no sleep soon. :)

Hibiscus Cocoa Butter Cream Soap

 Get your Hawaiian shirts on and pop a hibiscus behind your ear - here is Planet Yum's wonderful Hibiscus Cocoa Butter Cream Soap freshly made yesterday.  I'm tickled that it turned out looking a bit like a Hawaiian shirt! A wonderful Summertime blend of florals and fruits.  The beautiful Hibiscus flower doesn't have a scent, apart from a few rare types, but on Planet Yum we imagined what the Hibiscus could smell like.  We carefully blended fruity top notes of apple, black currant, lime, and bergamot, leading to a heady floral middle of jasmine and rose, with a warm, sexy drydown of white musk, amber, and sandalwood. Strong, true and loooong-lasting fragrance you love.

Obsession Cocoa Butter Cream Soap

If you love Calvin Klein's Obsession you're going to love our Obsession Cocoa Butter Cream Soap.  I love how the swirls turned out in this soap.  It's a delicious blend of mandarin leaf, orange blossoms, Bulgarian rose & vetiver.  Deep base notes of sandalwood, bourbon vanilla labdanum and tonka bean.  To die for!!!!!!

Spiced Mahogany Cocoa Butter Cream Soap

 Wow, wow, wow!  This is basically what people have been saying about our Spiced Mahogany Cocoa Butter Cream Soap.  We originally intended this as a man's soap, but so many women love it for themselves - but many also are loving the scent on their men.  It is a mix of rare woods such as ebony, mahogany, apple wood, with some spicier notes of Italian bergamot, cedarwood and patchouli.  It is a very grounding, earthy fragrance that truly centres you.

Our New Soap Formula - Even Creamier!

Just to let you all know we have enriched our cold processed soap base recipe with canola oil.  This oil has a creamier lather and is very soft & silky on the skin.  We still using the pure olive oil though!

 So, here's how the Raspberries & Violets soap turned out when I cut the log into bars.  It never ceases to amaze me how awesome this technique is;  each bar is so different.  The fragrance is so yummy too.

Flaxseed & Calendula Goat's Milk Soap

Now here's salvation for anyone who experiences painful, annoying conditions such as eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis.  Flaxseed oil assists in reducing the redness and the pain associated with these skin conditions.  Calendula is a flower extract which has been used successfully for centuries to heal problem skin.  It's fragrance free apart from the pleasing herbal scent of flaxseed, and has no added colour.  It's only colour comes from the yellow calendula infusion.  Goat's milk, of course, contains specific vitamins and minerals that exfoliate and nurture troubled skin.  Planet Yum goat's milk soaps, are great value for your money because like all our soaps, they are long-lasting and harder soap bars than most you'll find on the market - including Billy Goat soap.

I've been busy today!  Raspberries & Violets Cocoa Butter Cream Soap is one of our most popular soaps.  Over the years people have commented on how delicious this scent is.  It's a magic concentric swirl of violet, red and white dusted with 24k gold pearlescent mica.  Each bar when cut from the log is always completely different from any other.  Wait until you see it sliced into bars.  This new design supercedes the current photo on our website.  Ooops must change that old pic soon.

Here's a shot of our beautiful Guardian Angels Cocoa Butter Cream soap.  Just made, it's still in it's uncut drying phase, but sure to be a beautiful when cut in bars.  I did some interesting puring techniques, so I can't wait to see how it looks when cut - keep you posted.  It's a beautiful fragrant blend of English Rose, Lily of the Valley & White Musk.  It's a fragrance that stays strong with you long after bathing with it.  Delicately dusted with light gold pearlescent mica and sprinkled lovingly with fairy dust - see it sparkle and shine.  Enriched with skin moisturising shea butter and moisture locking cocoa butter.

It never ceases to amaze us how this technique is going to turn out.  I learned this technique from a soapmaker in Scotland.  Every single piece of soap once cut from the same log is uniquely different! 

This is fast catching the attention of many customers online and at markets.

Back to the old drawing board

Well back to the old drawing board as they say.  Unfortunately our Gardenia Soap which smells Heavenly and looks so beautiful didn't make it through the process.  As you can see it cracked and broke apart when I began to slice it.  It did seem to overheat when I was making.  Anyway, we will get to the bottom of this and achieve the results we want - we always do.

A Celebration of the New Spring
I was in Heaven making this beautiful Gardenia soap today - the fragrance wafting around the studio and out the window even caught the nose of my neighbour who adored it.  This took about 2 or more hours to make.  What you can't see yet is the layers of Gardenia greens & yellows underneath.  The timing was critical for this soap to work otherwise we would never have got those marvelous gardenia flowers on top.  Robin did an awesome job with the piping bag on those leaves too - a bit of a change from doing cupcake soaps for him.      AAAAAAAAAAAGhhhhh we're so excited - I can barely wait 24 hours to get it out of the mould. - Andrew & Robin. Pure natural Cocoa Butter Cream Soap
Well here it is finally - Pink Orchids.  We've been dreaming of creating this soap for quite awhile now, but we didn't want to rush into it until were totally happy with the design.  This is an exquisite fragrance we call Pink orchids and so far everyone we've presented it to just looooooves it.  It is an ethereal nectar combined with ylang ylang, rose and oriental woods, but it doesn't smell like any of those on their own.  Like a fine perfume you smell the whole blend as a new scent - and it is Heavenly.  The colours were inspired by pink orchids, and as you probably know most orchids do not have a fragrance, but this is a dream, a fantasy and don't we all need a bit of that in this crazy world.
